UMEED – GIVING IS LIVING
“Make a difference when it matters the most”
Immensely shaken by the Covid-19 outbreak, many of us have spent days thinking about how to overcome this unprecedented situation. Covid erased our footprints from the streets and yet time never stopped. It’s been two years since COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. A lot can happen in two years.
As the world is still trying to cope with these unhopeful times, A Compassionate selfless man named Athikhul Rahiman along with like-minded and compassionate colleagues agreed decided to give hope(Umeed) to countless people living in Mumbai.
UMEED is a charitable organization founded in April 2021 by Athik Rahiman with a beautiful thought in mind- ‘to keep UMEED alive in the heart of society.’ Thus, the seed of UMEED was sown which is now beautiful growing with the help of his team of volunteers who are more like a family to him.
Primary Focus of our organization aims:
- Timely support to destitute and less privileged society by arranging & distributing free food grains, free vaccination drives, arranging lifesaving oxygen concentrators.
- Followed by protein packs (supplements of protein) and filling the gaps in healthcare and other critical needs.
- It is also now involved in a variety of causes affecting the most underprivileged sections of society.

UMEED has envisioned helping and supporting the under-privileged society to get officially incorporated and welcoming like-minded individuals to this family. We are happy to invite like-minded people to join our future endeavors and complete the “Giving is Living” mission
UMEED’s MISSION AND VISION-
- Our Mission- Giving is Living: We believe in giving UMEED to people irrespective of Race/Caste/Creed they belong to and by nurturing the idea of growing together and helping others.
- Our Vision – Making a difference for every Urban poor : As the pandemic continues to take us through unprecedented situations and uncertain times ahead, Our vision is to initiate support and help society to grow bigger with time and by 2025 to create a community of care for every marginalized and less privileged and needy. To improve the quality of life for disadvantaged individuals through nutrition, health care, and education.
JOURNEY SO FAR-
- Procured and giving oxygen concentrators to needy people.
- Dry Ration Distribution to 5,000 families.
- Vaccination drive- vaccinated 200+ people.
- Distribution of protein supplement kits to 100+ kids in Dharavi (Asia’s biggest slum).
- Distribution of meals every 2nd Saturday to 300-350 people each time.
- Scholarships for the less privileged and marginalized students.
- Water Facilities to 50+ Families.
